THE ROLE
As a Senior Network System Engineer at Kempower, you will take ownership of the connectivity that powers our global fast charging ecosystem. You will work across embedded Linux platforms, networking technologies and IoT infrastructures to ensure that every charger stays reliably online — anywhere in the world.
This role combines hands-on engineering, problem-solving, and architectural thinking. You will collaborate closely with hardware, embedded software, cloud and testing teams, and your decisions will directly influence the quality, security and scalability of Kempower’s products used globally. Your work directly impacts the uptime, security, and customer experience of Kempower charging systems worldwide.
ROLE SPECIFICS:
Design and develop robust, secure and maintainable solutions to keep embedded Linux devices connected globally
Evaluate next generation IoT network chips for their quality and performance of the hardware and Linux drivers
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build high-quality tools to configure network settings and troubleshoot common configuration errors
Find root causes and provide solutions for networking problems in the IoT firmware ranging from applications to Linux kernel device driver bugs
Collaborate with hardware teams on network signal quality, EMI requirements and certification requirements
Keep IoT networking secure by keeping firewall rules and network-facing software up to date.
Analyze network traffic and find opportunities to improve quality, performance and costs of global device connectivity
At Kempower, we work in a hybrid model; however, this role requires frequent on-site presence. The position is preferably based in Tampere, but Lahti is also an option.

WHAT HELPS YOU SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE
Strong understanding of Linux networking and embedded connectivity
Ability to debug complex technical issues across HW/SW boundaries
Experience working with global IoT systems
A collaborative mindset and willingness to take ownership
As our official company language is English, proficiency in spoken and written English is required. Ability to communicate in Finnish is beneficial.
