ABOUT THE TRAINEE POSITION 

We are now looking for a Summer Trainee to join our Data & ML team for 11.5.26 - 30.8.2026. 

As a trainee in Kempower’s Data & ML team, you will get to solve real‑world problems, develop new ML‑based features for our ChargEye EV charger management system, and build analytical tools for internal and customer use. You will work in an agile team supported by experienced data and machine learning professionals. 

Your summer begins with a 2‑week Data & ML tools and practices academy, where you will receive onboarding to our tools, processes and data platform. There will be company-level onboarding to help you understand kempower and how different teams work together. 

You will get experience working on all aspects of the data stack: data analytics, data & ML pipelines, and AWS as a platform. You will gain valuable experience on a wide range of practices and topics such as cloud-native data tools, code reviews, ML-ops, continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD), infrastructure as code, AWS and Databricks. You will have support from both our core team and your peers within the team.  

We will organize several team and company-level events during the summer – learning and having fun with our colleagues are core things for us! 

Some tech keywords to describe our stack: AWS, Kinesis, DynamoDb, S3, ElasticSearch, Databricks, TimescaleDb, Terraform, SQL, Python, Pandas, pySpark , Sklearn, XGBoost, Tensorflow, PyTorch. 

The position is located in Tampere (Hervanta). The first month requires an onsite presence; after that, hybrid work can be agreed based on what works best for the team.

This is a paid traineeship with a monthly salary based on your completed credits and previous work experience.
