ABOUT THE TRAINEE POSITION
We are now looking for summer trainees to join our Cloud & Data team for 11.5. - 30.8.2026. You will work as part of a ChargEye cloud development team together with experienced engineers and fellow trainees. From the start, you will contribute to developing Kempower’s ChargEye EV charger management system and solving real-world problems in the EV charging domain.
You will gain experience working across the stack (frontend, APIs, cloud-native backend services, storage) and learn how scalable cloud systems are built and operated in AWS.
The program begins with a Cloud Software Development Academy, where you will receive onboarding to our tools, processes, and cloud platform. There will also be company-level onboarding to help you understand Kempower and how different teams work together.
For the rest of the summer, you will work in an agile development team consisting of trainees and experienced engineers. You will contribute to developing new features and improving existing functionality in the ChargEye cloud platform.
We expect you to be physically present at the Lahti office during the early part of the summer to support onboarding and collaboration.
You will gain experience in areas such as:
Code reviews and collaborative development
CI/CD and DevOps practices
Infrastructure as code
AWS-based cloud services
Automated testing
AI-assisted development tools are part of our everyday workflow. You will learn how to use them responsibly to improve productivity while maintaining strong engineering fundamentals.
WHAT HELPS YOU SUCCEED IN THIS TRAINEE POSITION?
Ongoing university or university of applied sciences studies in a relevant field
At least two years of completed studies
Good command of at least one programming language
Experience with school, hobby, or personal projects you are proud of and can discuss in depth
Genuine interest in software development beyond mandatory coursework
Curiosity and motivation to continuously improve
Good English skills (our official company language is English)
