ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Quality Engineer, you will:
- Assembly Quality Assurance: Develop, implement, and maintain robust quality control plans, inspection procedures, and test protocols specifically for the EV charger assembly line. Ensure compliance with internal standards and product specifications at various stages of production.
- Process Control & Improvement: Identify and analyze manufacturing process variations and inefficiencies on the assembly floor. Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and SPC to optimize yield, reduce scrap, and enhance overall assembly quality and efficiency.
- Non-Conformance & CAPA Management: Own the process for identifying, documenting, investigating, and resolving non-conformances related to incoming materials, in-process assembly, and finished goods. Drive thorough root cause analysis and implement effective corrective and preventative actions (CAPA).
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Collect, analyze, and interpret quality data from the assembly process (e.g., yield rates, failure modes, test results). Utilize statistical tools to identify trends, assess process capability, and provide actionable insights to manufacturing and engineering teams. Prepare and present quality reports and metrics.
- Supplier Quality Collaboration: Work with the supply chain team to address quality issues related to components and sub-assemblies used in EV charger manufacturing. Participate in supplier quality assessments or audits as needed.
- Regulatory & Standards Compliance: Ensure manufacturing and assembly processes adhere to relevant industry quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001) and product safety certifications (e.g., UL, CE, potentially automotive standards like IATF 16949 if applicable). Participate in internal and external quality audits.
- Training & Support: Develop and deliver quality-related training to assembly line operators and manufacturing personnel to ensure understanding and adherence to quality procedures and standards.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner effectively with Manufacturing Engineering, R&D, Supply Chain, and other departments to proactively address potential quality risks, implement design-for-manufacturing and design-for-quality principles, and support new product introductions.
WHAT DO WE EXPECT FROM YOU?
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 3-5 years of progressive quality engineering experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment, with a strong preference for experience in electronics assembly, automotive components, or complex electro-mechanical products.
- Solid understanding of core quality principles, methodologies, and tools (e.g., SPC, FMEA, Control Plans, Root Cause Analysis, 8D, 5 Why, Ishikawa diagrams).
- Proven experience implementing and maintaining Quality Management Systems (QMS), including ISO 9001. Experience with automotive standards (e.g., IATF 16949) or relevant product safety standards (e.g., UL) is a significant plus.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools, including Microsoft Excel; experience with statistical software (e.g., Minitab, JMP) or QMS software is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills with a data-driven approach.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a steadfast commitment to ensuring high product quality and reliability.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present findings and collaborate across diverse technical and operational teams.
