ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Solutions Support Manager, you will:
- Pre-Sales Technical Expertise and Support:
- Oversee the development of technical presentations, demonstrations, and proposals that clearly articulate the value proposition of our EV charging solutions.
- Ensure the team provides accurate and timely technical responses to customer inquiries (RFPs, RFIs, etc.).
- Act as a point of escalation for complex technical challenges during the pre-sales process.
- Collaborate with Sales, Product Management, and Engineering teams to align product strategy and customer needs.
- Solution Development and Customization:
- Guide the team in understanding customer requirements and translating them into tailored EV charging solutions.
- Ensure the proposed solutions are technically feasible, cost-effective, and meet customer specifications.
- Contribute to the development of standardized solution templates and best practices.
- Stay abreast of the latest EV charging technologies, industry trends, and competitor offerings.
- Sales Enablement and Collaboration:
- Develop and maintain technical sales tools, training materials, and knowledge base resources for the sales team.
- Participate in key customer meetings and presentations as a technical expert.
- Provide technical input and support for marketing initiatives and events.
- Work closely with the sales leadership to develop and execute sales strategies.
- Process Improvement and Reporting:
- Define and track key pre-sales metrics to measure team performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Implement and optimize pre-sales processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Provide regular reports on team activities, performance, and key technical insights.
- Team Leadership:
- Recruit, hire, and develop a high-performing team of technical professionals.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that empowers team members to excel.
- Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and professional development opportunities.
- Motivate and inspire the team to achieve outstanding results.
WHAT DO WE EXPECT FROM YOU?
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related field) or equivalent technical experience.
- Demonstrated experience (2+ years) leading and managing a technical team.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in a pre-sales engineering or technical sales role within a technology-driven industry (EV charging experience is a significant plus).
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and inspire teams
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven ability to develop and present compelling technical solutions.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Proficiency in CRM and other relevant sales and technical tools.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed, approximately 20%.
Additional Skills (preferred):
- Experience with EV charging standards (e.g., CCS, CHAdeMO, GB/T)
- Electrical code compliance and familiarity with national building standards
- Familiarity with North American compliance standards (UL, ETL, CU, CA)
- Experience in the automotive, EV, or EV charging industry is a plus
- Knowledge of power systems analysis and modeling
- Project management certification (e.g., PMP)
