THE ROLE
As a Software Engineer/Senior Software Engineer, Power Management at Kempower, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to the ever-evolving EV market. On a typical day, you'll create new software and improve existing software related to electric power management, participate in project meetings and test hands-on at laboratory that your code is performing as expected in all conditions, making a direct impact on our mission to revolutionize transportation.
In this role you will,
- Be a part of the core team of Kempower charging systems
- Work on a distributed system Linux (Yocto) with partial real-time requirements.
- Develop system logic and algorithms for power management also including communication interfaces and protocols such as MQTT, TCP/IP, Ethernet, CAN
The position will be adjusted based on the selected candidate’s experience and skills, ranging from Software Engineer to Senior Software Engineer.
At Kempower we work in a hybrid model. In this role, occasional visits at Lahti are expected. You can find our offices also in Helsinki, Tampere and Vaasa.

WHAT HELPS YOU SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE
- You have at least a few years of experience or you are seasoned professional (senior position) in developing software in embedded Linux system
- Knowledge and understanding of:
- C and C++ programming
- Linux operating system (Yocto)
- GIT version control
- Debugging
- Code optimization
- Static code analysis tools
- Requirement management and technical documentation
- Hardware test equipment: oscilloscope, logic analyzer
- Reading a schematic
- Data structures
- Team player mentality and collaborative mindset with a strong sense of teamwork, active knowledge sharing, and seamless cross-functional cooperation.
- Proactive and problem-solving approach to seek solutions and drive progress independently
- Ability and willingness to work in a growing and evolving company and the EV Charging industry with developing processes and ways of working
