ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Electrical Engineer, you will:
Serve as electrical component SME within Kempower product bank
Develop and design components in a DC Fast Charger system to power electric vehicles, fleets, and other low to medium voltage applications
Work closely with engineering teams and regulators to obtain product certification (UL, ETL, etc.) to ensure products are designed and tested to meet industry regulations in the U.S.
Select and design critical power electronic components such as cables, relays, and protection devices that meet safety, functional, and regulatory requirements
Prepare detailed electrical drawings, schematics, certification plans, certification reports, and other engineering documents
Assist with the evaluation and analysis of electrical system design for completion of function hazard assessments and system safety assessments
Construct and test working prototypes of electrical products or systems
Assist in activities such as: circuit design, product qualification planning and testing; identify and use proven technologies to create original DC Fast Charger designs and prepare required technical documentation and data.
WHAT DO WE EXPECT FROM YOU?
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
4+ years experience as an electrical engineer
Excellent analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced team-oriented environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to work across a variety of departments
Multi-tasking and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, and Outlook
WHAT MAKES YOU STAND OUT
Knowledge of and experience with electrical regulations (NEC, NFPA) and government programs (NEVI, CTEP) that support the electrification industry
Experience with Solidworks and Altium or similar system
Previous experience in the EV or sustainable energy industry
